Farm Description

An excellent hunting ranch with resident elk and deer in all seasons. Everything is complete with 225 acres of dryland alfalfa fields. A 15 GPM well feeds 6 livestock tanks, 7 separately fenced pastures and an additional 40 acre BLM chunk fenced in with the deeded land. This is a walk in and enjoy hunting and ag ranch located off the year round Strawberry Creek Road, featuring power, good water, food plots and much more.

Land

Surrounded on 3 sides by two ranches under conservation easement, the ranch is protected from any type of future development and is a great candidate for a conservation easement. The ranch consists of the perfect mix of rolling alfalfa fields, juniper treed pockets along with a sage and bitter brush covered bowls and hillsides. Strawberry Creek runs through the bottom portion with a few springs that filter out along the bottom. The 15 GPM well is dispersed through the ranch to multiple tire tanks and overflow ponds strategically placed for both wildlife and livestock uses.

Recreation

The ranch is located in hunting Unit 11 and qualifies for landowner deer vouchers annually. Elk are over the counter for archery, 2nd season and 3rd seasons. The resident elk herd stays here and also rotates on the bordering ranches. The ranch is loaded with elk, deer and turkeys.

Agriculture

Livestock rotation is simple and easy with multiple fenced pastures, each with water. The alfalfa hay is dryland and is dependent on rainfall. When we receive good rain in the spring, summer and fall the hay crop is excellent. In a typical year, the hay is put up and then the hay fields are used for fall grazing. With August and September rains, the new growth on the alfalfa is excellent for elk and deer. The livestock rotation in the fall is smooth and easy with a bottleneck in the bottom that feeds into the older set of corrals.

The ranch is located 8 miles from the center on Meeker and all on a paved road.
