Here are some questions and answers in regards to the farm's crops. I hope this information helps.
Q: How seasonal the pond? How many years out of the 12yrs of ownership has it been dry?
A: The pond holds water through most of the summer, but dries up during the winter. It would need to be "sealed" to hold water all year.
Q: What types of crops have you farmed in the last 12 yrs, is it always the same type or does it vary? What is the tonnage per acre of those crops?
A: As for the yields, it is hard to come up with an annual average, Owners have dealt with 2 droughts during that time. 2019 had great water, so the yields were high. The good grass field produced 1200 bales, 65, which is 6500/Acre. They at got 1200 bales of oats on 15 acres 65 /bale. The Hay grazer produced 1500 bales on 50 acres.
Q: What percentage of the acreage is currently being farmed?
A: Because of the dry spring of 2020, the Owners have not planted any crops this season as originally planned. They are using the irrigation water to keep the grass field green.
