Topography is gently rolling to steep in places around the drainages. The property is a blend of the piedmont, foothills and the mountains. Higher elevations give good views into the nearby national forest. Some of the mountains within 4 miles are: Stumphouse, Turnip Top, Ross, Station, Tamassee Knob, Long and Dodge.
The closest major highway is SC Highway 11, a Scenic Parkway about 1.5 miles to the east. 25 miles to the south is Interstate I- 85. Atlanta, GA is 100 miles to the west and Charlotte, NC is 145 miles to the east. The transportation system provides quick access from either Atlanta, GA about 1.5 hours or Greenville, SC about 1 hour.
Travel distance to the Oconee Medical Center in Seneca is 13 miles via SC 11 and SC 28. The property is 10 miles west of Lake Keowee, 13 miles west of Lake Jocassee, 1.7 miles east of Stumphouse Mountain, and 2 miles west of Picket Post.
The neighborhood is good to excellent with new homes in the area. Interior woods roads and trails provide good access to the property for ORV, hiking and horseback riding opportunities. There is approximately 20,000 feet of streams, most of which flow year round during normal rainfall. The water quality is excellent with the source of the water primarily from the property with few exceptions. One area of shoals below the pond has about 150 feet of exposed rock with flowing water was used as a slide for recreational purposes in the past. The Sumter National Forest is less than 2 miles to the west. The tract is near federal, state, and county property. Many trails, rivers, waterfalls and lake access points are a short drive away. Oconee State Park is only 4 miles to the northwest. Oconee Station State Historical Site is 2 miles to the northeast.
Away form heavy population in a rural area, the property has secluded valleys with rocky streams and ridges with mountain views. Booker and Beaty Creeks spill over large rocks shaded by mountain laurel and rhododendron. Little creeks that feed into Booker and Beaty also have rocks and small cascades. Trout waters are located within 10 miles to the north and northwest on national forest and other state lands. Located near the quiet town of Walhalla, this tract offers isolation like few others in this size class of available properties. Many building sites are present throughout the property.
