Located in the Midwest Region of Michigan, the temperature in Hesperia varies between a low of 14 F and a high of 81 F. The city also experiences an annual precipitation of 37 inches of rain and a snowfall of 71 inches. In Hesperia, the humidity level remains comfortable throughout the summer, providing a pleasant climate and four distinct seasons for the outdoor enthusiasts.

History

The picturesque community of Hesperia is situated on the border of Oceana and Newaygo Counties, along the beautiful White River, where below the Hesperia Dam where you will experience some of the best salmon, steelhead and rainbow trout fishing in Michigan.

Hesperia's past is rich with the history of the Mojave Indian Tribe, Spanish settlers and the westward travelers of the Mormon Trail. The first major turning point in present day Hesperia occurred in 1885, when the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad tracks were completed.

Hesperia offers small town shopping options such as Ed's Orchard Grocery Store, gas stations, restaurants, Hesperia Sport Fishing Shop, Corwell Health Family Hospital and Fire Dept.

Fremont with big store shopping is 12 miles east.

Lake Michigan at Rothbury is 25 minutes away and Silver Lake Sand Dunes is 32 minutes.

Grand Rapids is 60 miles south of Hesperia.
