Property values in Belen and the surrounding area are likely to see a boost due to the upcoming construction of a Facebook data center in Los Lunas (15 minutes outside of Belen). Los Lunas also recently won a .3 million federal grant to bring water infrastructure to the newly constructed Central New Mexico Rail Park. The construction of the rail park and its attendant infrastructure is expected to bring thousands of jobs to the area.
