Farm Description
This 96 acre property property offers exceptional potential for a family farm and for a family compound. The entrance comes in from a good, two-lane, paved county road into a large field, which features a constant flowing creek coming out from a large spring known as Indian Creek Spring. Beyond the field is the first mountain. Once up the bank, the top lays out in large flat areas that are separated by small gullies in between. There are about 6 really nice level areas that are are all connected by broad old logging roads. They run the full length of the first mountain which rises consistently on a gentle rise from the front middle of the property. A land bridge at a high point connects to the lower end of the Clinch Mountain, where there are two ponds and 3 levels of rise above them. The property runs to the very top of the renown Clinch Mountain, which is a part of the old Appalachian Trail.Old logging roads run through the hills, which could be better established for driveways, atvs, & horse trails. These 96 acres remain from the old homesteader's 230 acres where families, cattle, tobacco, & corn fields thrived. The old barn still stands. Behind it are two large valley fields with two separate creeks running through them, and two sizeable ponds, as well. The potential is great and worthy of the work that needs to be done to smooth it out and get it beautiful again. Public water is at the road, and high-speed internet is very close and will soon reach this property.
