A wholesome, safe place to suit you, to raise a family, or create a sustainable community.

The Farm

This home was built in 2001. It is a 1-story off frame modular. Incredibly energy efficient, well-designed 3 bedroom, 3 ½ bath house with hickory tongue and groove hardwood floors. It has a new roof and is well maintained.

The front of the home boasts a large, covered porch and in the back, there is a second spacious, uncovered porch for barbecue and viewing the treed, free range chicken area, or for container gardening, private sunbathing etc. The chicken coop is incorporated under this deck for security.

There are multiple additional outbuildings and sheds, including a 45'X 25' purpose build goat/sheep barn with an additional, large horse stall, a designated buck pen and lean-to, a tool shed adjacent to the kitchen garden, a woodshed with solar hut, and the solar fail-over water pumping facility.

There is also a secondary agricultural solar well house in the valley pasture area with over 2500 ft of irrigation lines for livestock and crop watering.

We also put in two full-service RV hookups with 70-amp service each. You can have friends or relatives keep their trailer here for extra space, or even rent them out.

Ready to Move In - Take the Reins

Step into a sustainable small family farm. The sale price of this farmstead includes all existing vehicles, supplies, tools and farming equipment and includes the breeding stock to enable you to immediately walk into and learn this lifestyle. Yes, it can be done part-time, after all we all have “day jobs”.

My wife and I were corporate people. Ten years ago, we lived in a subdivision. Now we're part time farmers, growing and eating our own meat and veggies, and selling the overage to the Asheville, NC community and you can absolutely do this, too.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind retreat, hidden away at 2200 ft elevation in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This working farmstead is located near Asheville, NC, across from the Pisgah National Forest. The Pisgah Forest is a land of mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls, and heavily forested slopes.

• Currently a cash-flow neutral, working family farmstead:

o Purpose-built meat rabbit and meat goat barns.

o FDA compliant rabbit meat micro processing facility. Capable of producing up to 1.5 tons annually of dressed rabbit meat. (rabbit meat is selling over imports 50% of our goat meat - goat meat sells for more than beef.

o Currently produces 12 to 18 meat goats annually for sale on the hoof or for personal consumption.

o All done on a part-time basis. Market for rabbit is 20 lb. cases to restaurants.

Ample space for a myriad of agricultural pursuits for people who want to grow food for sale or for their own consumption. Fenced pastures, beehives (4 hive boxes, 2 nucs, and all implements included with sale), a chicken coop (existing laying hens included in sale), and untamed woods give this location a sense of self-sufficiency and seclusion; all the while being close enough to enjoy great local eateries and all the outdoor activities of the rugged mountains of Western North Carolina.
