Tablas Abajo is a humble community, where its inhabitants dedicated themselves to fishing activities and subsistence agriculture. En esa d cada de los 70 se inici la construcci n de la primera carretera de asfalto y el acueducto rural que a n existe.
Ya en la d cada de 1980 se logra la apertura de los caminos hacia las playas La Colorada y Las Comadres y se establece el primer tel fono p blico.
Actualmente, en el Corregimeinto de Tablas Abajo se han establecido innumerables proyectos residenciales gracias a la constante mejora de las infreaestructuras que han hecho de Tablas Abajo un corregimiento pujante y en continuo desarrollo. Una de los actos que celebramos con m s entusiasmo en la celebraci n del aniversario de corregimiento, con presentaciones folcl ricas, diab licos, d cimas, concursos de Miss chiquitita, Tu Cara Me Suena y Trajes Estilizados dando participaci n a ni os, j venes y adultos en familia.
