Located in Westwater, UT adjacent to Interstate 70, this wastewater treatment facility is only two miles from the Colorado border west of Grand Junction. The 15-acre property has very easy access to I-70, right off a major interchange, with little other traffic. Designed to treat 5,000 barrels bbls /day of produced water a day, the system discharges the treated effluent to the Coal Creek wash under Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Updes permit Ut0025917. In addition to the treatment system, the facility has two permitted salt water disposal wells located on site. Oil & Gas Wastewater is trucked to the site from both the Piceance and Uinta formations and produced water suitable for treatment is sent to oil recovery while all other water received is sent to a buffer tank and held for injection.

This site is a turn-key operation with all of the pumps, motors, tanks, wells, permits and equipment in place. The facility started operation in late 2012 accepting oil & gas wastewater for disposal through an on-site injection well. The treatment process became operational in August of 2014. Annual production water volumes in the Uinta Basin in 2014 were over 50,000,000 bbls. Annual production water volumes in the Piceance Basin in 2014 were well over 100,000,000 bbls.
