Farm Description

This gorgeous piece of farmland is ready for a set of building plans, a fresh crop, a couple of buck tags and a fishing pole.

When driving through the property, you can't help but glance across the terrain and wonder how someone could ever decide that it's time to sell this slice of heaven. To the eyes, it seems like a massive food plot that will pull whitetails from the vast timber farms to the right and left of the property boundary. You can tell from the field easement that it's a straight-shot to the north end of the property, where whitetails bed and an old box stand with shooting lanes facing in every direction. This property is ideal for someone that is interested in taking over the farm lease in 2020 or for someone who is ready to enjoy the natural draw of row crop during the 2019 hunting season.

The property has about +/-1300 foot of road frontage and is over a mile long from the highway to the northern most boundary. There are +-97 acres of cropland, +-199 acres of cutover, +/- 15 acres of young pines and a +/- 1 acre pond. If you look closely, you will see remnants of an old farmhouse that lies almost directly in the center of the farm. The property was formerly a much larger tract and the current boundaries were surveyed in 1964.

From the property, you are only about a +-5 minute drive from Pinetops, +-10 minutes from Tarboro, +-20 minutes from Greenville and about a +-40 minute drive to Rocky Mount. Raleigh is roughly an hour from the residence as well as Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Edgecombe County, located in the coastal plain region of eastern North Carolina, was formed in 1741 from Bertie County. It was named for Baron Richard Edgecombe, English Member of Parliament and lord of the treasury. Aside from minor boundary adjustments, the county's present dimensions are the result of geographical divisions in 1746, 1758, 1777, and 1855 to form parts of Granville, Halifax, Nash, and Wilson County. In 1764 the county seat was moved from Edgecombe Court House to Tarboro. Other Edgecombe County communities include Conetoe, Leggett, Macclesfield, Pinetops, Princeville, Sharpsburg, Speed, Whitakers, and parts of Rocky Mount which straddles the Edgecombe-Nash border.
