Roan Creek Ranch consist of 3167 deeded acres and 9267 BLM acres all behind a locked gate with very limited access to others. Also behind the locked gate are over 9 miles of private roads and just under 9 miles of Roan Creek which is full of trout. Roan Creek is a 45 mile tributary to the Colorado River which originates on the ranch from a few seeps and springs. As you continue down the creek through the ranch there are 15 deep long canyons with large springs coming out of most of them feeding the creek along the way. The canyons are all pine covered with aspen bottoms providing great cover and habitat to the multiple species of wildlife that call this ranch home. The ranch is rated for 845 AUM's running from the middle of June to the first of November. Approximately 85 acres has historically been irrigated adding some production to the ranch. The elevation ranges from just over 7000 feet to just under 8000 feet. History: The ranch has a long history as it has been in the same family since the 1940's as the owners have added to the ranch through the years. Also there are different homesteads dating back to the early 1900's. At the beginning of the ranch entrance there is part of an old Ute Indian Trail that is still visable from the ranch road. The ranch is located in hunting unit 31 which is an over the counter area for elk.
